White Center Heights Park is tucked away in a primarily residential area in White Center. In 2007, the park was given a makeover from a Starbucks donation.. It also received a new suspension bridge in 2009 over a pond.
The park sit across the street from White Center Heights Elementary. So we created signs to go on the bridge for the children to learn about the native plants, the animals that call this pond home, and how to keep it clean and healthy.
As a bonus we also created waterproof flip books that the teachers could use in this learning process not just at the pond, but back in the classroom as well.
